Volunteers gleaning with the Society of Saint Andrew delivered 3300 pounds of broccoli today.
Would we like 32 dozen eggs from free-range chickens? Of course! But since the eggs were in far-away Palatka, instead of rescuing them, we suggested they be donated to one of our recipient groups located in Palatka. Bread of Life, a group that cooks lunch for 100 or so every day of the year, was delighted to get this wonderful, protein-rich food. Best of all, the farmer indicated that she would be donating eggs regularly.
